What do they all have in common? (Apart from being released in the early 1980s of course). I have heard rumours that they are all being....remade! I have but one question: WHY?

NOOOOOOOOO! I hate it when Hollywood does this! *mutter, mutter*

*wanders off to rewatch her copy of "Footloose"*

Ditto. Because how can they remake a classic such as Footloose? Or Fame for that matter? They will lose their...sparkle.

I need to source copies of the originals before they are all snapped up!

Oh! I need to get my copies now too. LOVED Fame! I have the CD, must look for it now ;)

I loved Fame too Mariana, especially the dancing! I keep wishing some TV network here would replay the TV series, as that was just as good. Hmmm...I wonder if they are available for purchase...*wanders off to look*

I loved The Karate Kid! I used to have the biggest crush on Ralph Macchio ;)

Why would they want to remake Footloose? Or any of them for that matter? I don't get it... classics are meant to stay classics.

That's optimistic heidenkind - LOL! Hmmmm. It's whether they can remake them well...personally I adore Footloose just the way it is :)

Katie - one of the local TV networks here is currently screening The Karate Kid movies at the moment (I think tonight we get III) and the hairstyles have me in hysterics!

Hilcia - I know. Maybe they want to introduce a new generation (now I feel old) to the marvels of Footloose and Fame. As long as they don't botch the remakes :)

Season 1 of Fame is out. I know this because another friend of mine is watching them and is enthusing madly :) - try looking here.

Yes, I heard that Jackie Chan was going to be in the Karate Kid!! So, will it be a comedy? I guess we'll see!

Thank you cyphomandra! I will definitely check it out! I remember watching the TV series when I was younger and enjoying it!

Jackie Chan? Seriously CJ? Hmmm. Good call about whether it might go the comedy route...
