Bah! Humbug!

First and foremost, I wish you, your family and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

But what's with the title I hear you ask. Yes, I know, it makes you immediately think of Ebenezer Scrooge...and you'd be right. I have a confession. I don't like Christmas. I used too...but Christmas is synonymous with family and, for me, family equates to high octane stress. As of midnight tonight I am on annual leave - from work and from the family - for 2 1/2 weeks. *bliss*
As for the day itself, my nod to Christmas will encompass reading as many of my Christmas anthologies as I can... How will you be spending your Christmas?

  4. Ooh..Christmas anths..that sounds like fun :)

We make a rule that we don't leave our house on Christmas day - so if family wants to see us, they have to come to us..but we have a 5 and 3 yr old, and it's best for them if they can stay home and play with their new toys all day :) So I will be doing lots of cooking..and organzing :)

    Merry Christmas!!

  5. Count me in as another one who doesn't like Christmas and hasn't for some time. It's a tough thing to confess, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one!!!!

  6. Kechara - I hope you all have a lovely day!

Mandi - I *heart* my Christmas anthologies. Hmmm. I might try and note down my favourites to share. All the best with the cooking and organizing - that was one of my favourite things about Christmas (weird as that may sound). I hope you all have a wonderful day!

(((Kristie))) I dithered for ages about posting, but decided how I feel is how I feel. I think there are more of us out there... I hope the day is survivable. I survived the obligatory phone call, now I just want to vegetate with those Christmas anthologies :)

  7. I love Christmas with my husband and daughters, but I often feel sad on major holidays. I think it's because I don't have any family from my side ... and I see and hear my friends talking about all their plans with family that I don't have. Plus my husband is an only child so my kids don't have aunts, uncles or cousins. It kind of makes me sad.
