The 2010 Support Your Local Library Reading Challenge total to date: 35 books (two books this month)

The 2010 Big Book Challenge total to date: one book (I'm still aiming to read my chosen book - Kushiel's Dart (Jacqueline Carey) - before the end of the year!]

The M/M Romance Challenge 2010 total to date: 18 books (one book this month)

A list of all the books I've read to date (from 01 January 2010) can be found at GoodReads.

Favourite book of the month?

* Banana Fish (Akimi Yoshida)

* Making Promises (Amy Lane)

Currently reading:

* The Fugitive Prince (Janny Wurts)

And the books I'm most looking forward to reading next month: Lord of the White Hell (Book II) [Ginn Hale]

So, what did you read last month?

  1. I still need to read the first Ginn Hale book in that series!

    I'm in love with Zoe Archer's Blades series currently. Good stuff.

  2. Mandi - I've had the second on my TBR list for 2 months now! I want to read it, it's just...finding the time. The first was brilliant - I think Ginn Hale is an amazing writer and I'm so excited about her serial!

    I saw your review of Zoe Archer's third book. Worth a try?

  3. I still need to read the first book in that series too. :P I'm looking forward to it.

    I read Amy Lane's Keeping Promise Rock and there was sooo much drama. I really liked it, but haven't read anything else by her since I'm not in the mood for so much angst.

  4. Making Promises was so good. Mikhail and his mother broke my heart.

    My favorite for the month was "Last Dragon Standing" by GA Aiken.

    "Electric Melty Tingles" by KZ Snow was good as well. "My Brother's Keeper" by Abigail Roux was an excellent mystery.... not much on romance, but the whodunit was very well done.

  5. That's some good books, orannia!

    I've got to read some more Amy Lane.

    I read/listened to 12 for the month. More than I thought, actually! Beautiful Creatures (YA), Warrior, Dudleytown, and Mockingjay (YA) were among my favorites.

  6. ames - I just lent Lord of the White Hell Book I to a friend. She really enjoyed it and I'm hoping to get her the second (I figure she will read it before I do :) I must confess to adoring Keeping Promise Rock (I would so love to be part of that family), but then I like lots of angst :)

    Mariana - Mikhail and his mother also broke mine. I cried. I haven't read any of GA Aiken's or KZ Snow's books. Worth a look?

    Renee - thank you :) I love Amy Lane. I'm a complete fangirl! And I'm going to try Warrior!

  7. I'm working my way through Kushiel's Justice at the moment and loving it. I think my favourite book for last month was probably either Laura Ann Gilman's "Hard Magic", or CE Murphy's "Demon Hunts"

  8. Love the new avatar kechara! And glad you're enjoying Kushiel's Justice!

  9. Great reading month, orannia! That Banana Fish looks weird but intrigues me. :)
    I've been on a Stephani Hecht binge myself. And thinking of it, I really need to update my reading list...

  10. KZ Snow's contemporaries I really like.

    GA Aiken, (who is also Shelly Laurenston) is one of my all time favorite authors. She's super funny and raunchy, love her! Definitely you should check them out :)

  11. Janna - Banana Fish is unusual, and it did take me a while to get into it, but once I did...I fell hook, line and sinker :) Good luck with updating the reading list!

    Mariana - hmmm. I might have to try both authors at some point :)

  12. Woohoo! You made the 100+ mark for 2010! Not sure if that was one of your goals for 2010, but congrats anyway!

    I've been really happy with my reads lately, but not making the 100 book club list this year. Again. Bummer.

  13. Christine - well, yes, but quite a few of that 100 is manga. They are novels, but...not as big so I feel slightly guilty including them. It wasn't a goal - what I'm worried about is the library challenge. I don't think I'm going to reach 50! Too much manga :)
